Newark Senior Center

The Delaware Woodworkers Guild built 7 book-shelf units and 2 furniture dollies for the Newark Senior Center semi-annual flea market. The units themselves would be of a height of 55-in, a length of 36-in and a depth of 12 inches. Each unit would have 5 shelves, 3 would be permanent (top, bottom, center) and 2 would be moveable. The goal is to provide better conditioned shelving units than what the Center had available to them within a 4 week timeframe. The construction of each unit was 3/4-in finished birch plywood for the carcass and a face-frame of 3/4-in x 1 1/2-in poplar. The members of the team that completed the project: Chuck Skelley, Randy Thomas, Dick Blaylock, Scott Rowe, Fred Noubani, John Kain, Art Ellis and Dave Skica.
